New beer kits

We’ve been using BrewHouse kits for years with great success, but a friend recommended we try a new type with undiluted wort. I picked up four boxes of the FestaBrew kits for the first of our winter batches.

• 271: West Coast IPA
• 272: Brown Ale
• 273: Pale Ale
• 274: Cream Ale

We started the kits on November 17, and immediately noted the extra weight. The FestaBrew kits come in a box with 23L of wort—so the extra 9L adds ~9kg to what needs to be lifted into a car and onto the counter.
The process is easy: dump the wort into the pail and add the yeast. No extra water, and no stabilizer. However, the kits do not come with the priming dextrose, so that adds a bit more cost to an already slightly more expensive kit.
