Beer worked hard this time!

After 24 hours, I was passing through the beer room to get some tools and got the telltale smell of beer working. But a drip-drip caught my attention and I noticed beer dripping out from the insulated first stage cabinet! The Munich Dark had worked very hard, and both it and the Red Ale had popped the lids to foam out into the cabinet. The two batches on the counter had worked pretty hard too: the Stout had formed firm dry foam all around the lid.

We’ll have to make do with ~1-2l less beer for the Stout and Munich Dark because of the foaming loss. It does happen, but not frequently, so I assume this was better yeast — or the room was a bit warmer than normal.

I cleaned things up and let them continue until this afternoon when I racked to glass. The plastic pails needed an extra wash this time.
